Mani ratnam’s Roja was a great beginning for Rahman, that had give him Many appreciations and opportunities in and around. The hindi version of the movie’s album was also a hit and that gifted him many fans from all part of the nation. Rahman moved on giving back to back hits from his movies and people are becoming fans of his songs irrespective of language barriers from all over the nation.

At the time where south Indian film professional struggles in reaching Bollywood, Rahman’s path was clear and easy because many of the dubbed versions of his albums created a great fan base for him there. Rahman’s second movie was Yodha, which was a malayalam movie.  He had also worked in telugu, Kannada movies. Ram gopal varma’s Rangeela which was released in 1995 was Rahman’s Bollywood debut. The album was a huge success and rahman

won filmfare award for best music that year. That was

just a beginning, now rahman holds the record of

Dil se was the first bollywood movie rahman worked

with Mani Ratnam. Each and every songs in the album

were well acclaimed and had given an international

recognition for him. The "chaiyya chaiyya" song secure

9th position in BBC World Service top 10 songs of all time and Dil se re song won MTV Video music award for best song from international Viewers choice.
