The movie composition was not only the playground for rahman. He has also composed for many projects other than films. On eve of the 50th Indian independence in 1997 rahman composed the album Vande mataram, which was one the best selling non-film albums.
His musical concerts are very special
where different versions of his super
hit compositions can be heard and it is
the platform he gave for many young
talents. His first stage production was
on 2002 named "Bombay Dreams" that
was commissioned by English
composer Andrew Lloyd webber. His
compositions take part for many
events like 2010 commonwealth
games, world classical tamil
conference etc. Rahman composed a
Punjabi song for the London Olympics
opening ceremony for showcasing the
Indian Influence in United Kingdom in a part of a medley directed by Danny Boyle.
His concerts completed almost all part of the world, there is a great fan following for his concerts.
